$50 for teachers and teacher consultants supporting students who are DHH
This workshop, for teachers and teacher consultants supporting students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH), will focus on several technical aspects of American Sign Language (ASL), including structure, grammar, classifiers, and multiple meanings. Participants must have intermediate ASL skills.
Participants will identify and apply:
- ASL structure, grammatical features, and classifiers
- Multiple meanings from English to ASL
- Multiple meanings from ASL to English
- Strategies for representing key vocabulary
- Technical signs using ASL

Camille Jeter-Lorello has a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts and ASL and a Master's degree in ASL Education from Gallaudet University. Camille has presented and conducted countless national and international workshops focusing on the theatre arts, interpreting, storytelling techniques, and ASL. With her passion for teaching, Camille taught as an ASL Literacy Specialist at the New Jersey School for the Deaf. In 2008, she proudly co-founded A.C.O.R.N. Deaf Theatre, which promotes, fosters, and emphasizes Artistic, Communication, Opportunity, Resources, and Nurturing as part of the creative process for youths who are DHH.
Natalie Grupido has 24 years of experience as an educator and mentor as well as an ASL coordinator, adjunct instructor, Deaf studies instructor, and administrator. Natalie has educated hundreds of individuals in preschool to postsecondary education, providing instruction in ASL, English, global studies, history, mathematics, and other subjects. Natalie earned an educational specialist degree and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Gallaudet University, and earned her master's degree in special education - Deaf education (minor in DeafBlind) and educational administration certification from Michigan State University.
