Join Camp Tuhsmeheta (Camp T) and MDE-LIO on a two-day overnight camp focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills! Campers ages 10-14 who are Blind/Visually Impaired will learn bridge-building techniques, explore tree growth, and practice archery skills. Activities will also include nature hikes, swimming, scaling the climbing tower, and completing the challenge ropes course. To wind down, campers can enjoy a campfire, roast s'mores, make crafts, and build their own pizzas.
The camp's activities will incorporate expanded core curriculum skills, including cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, literacy, and measurement. These activities will be supported by teacher consultants for students who are visually impaired, certified orientation and mobility specialists, and independent living skills trainers.
