Michigan families with school-age children who are Blind or Visually Impaired are encouraged to join the Family Nature Club: Bird Bash in March. Families will be mailed a variety of activities the week of March 8 to be completed at home. After completing the activities, families are invited to join Camp T staff and other families for an interactive online event on Saturday, March 20.
- Have fun with their families while completing bird-themed activities, including crafts, an outdoor activity, and a challenge involving science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
- Work on independent living skills while making a tasty treat
- Meet up with other families to share their “bird bash” experience
To access this event, participants must have reliable internet access and a computer with a camera.
Please note: It is important for participants to request accommodations at least three weeks prior to the online event. Outside agencies MDE-LIO contracts with to provide accommodations cannot guarantee services if requests are made in less than three weeks.
