Description

Spring forward at our Family Nature Club: Forest Frenzy event! This weekend event will offer outdoor recreation activities, forest investigations, baking, a campfire, and more! Roast a marshmallow or two, spend some time hiking, enjoy the company of family, and make new friends. This is a great opportunity for children who are Blind or Visually Impaired and their families to learn new skills in the pristine forest of Camp Tuhsmeheta (Camp T).

  • Adaptive baking skills
  • Social skills
  • Forest ecology

Audience

This event is for Michigan families with school-age children who are Blind/Visually Impaired.

Required Camper Forms

In addition to registering, attendees are required to fill out a camper information form packet for this event. Please download and complete the packet below, including as much information as you can for your entire group. Bring the completed packet with you on the day of the event.

Accommodations

It is important for participants to request accessibility accommodations at least three weeks prior to the event. Outside agencies MDE-LIO contracts with to provide accommodations cannot guarantee services if requests are made in less than three weeks.

Cancellation Policy

Please email mde-lio-events@michigan.gov as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration. Please note: For events that require payment, MDE-LIO will issue refunds only for cancellations received no less than three business days prior to the event.​
