The day will begin with a welcome from Scott Koenigsknecht, Michigan Department of Education Deputy Superintendent. In the keynote, Marjorie Kaiser, Superintendent of the South Dakota School for the Blind and School for the Deaf, will discuss challenges, best practices, and unique needs in the areas of BVI and DHH.
In addition to breakout sessions throughout the day, experienced Michigan administrators who currently supervise BVI and/or DHH programs will share their wisdom in an afternoon panel. Come prepared with questions!
Conference topics will include:
- The educational impact of hearing and vision loss
- Caseload analysis
- Assistive technology
- Teacher shortages
- Tools for assessing teachers
SCECHs are pending.
