Description

Calling all families! You are invited to join MDE-LIO staff for a day of moving and grooving with orientation and mobility (O&M) fun. Students and family members will learn and practice a variety of skills related to O&M indoors and outdoors. Attendees will also be exposed to the latest assistive technology to help you get your groove on. It will be a fun way to build social connections and network with other families.

Audience

This event is for family members and middle-school/high-school students who are white cane users or receive direct orientation and mobility services. Any adult family member who is a part of the student’s daily life is welcome, including parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and/or guardians. Siblings are also invited. 

Each student must be accompanied by one or more adult family members. 

Accommodations

It is important for participants to request accessibility accommodations at least three weeks prior to the event. Outside agencies MDE-LIO contracts with to provide accommodations cannot guarantee services if requests are made in less than three weeks.
