Connect and Learn at Family Matters! Event

Families are invited to attend an upcoming event for kids who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, their parents, and siblings. Family Matters! helps families connect with other families, find community and advocacy resources, learn new strategies, help build their child's confidence, and more. Activities will be provided for children of all ages, and parents will be able to attend sessions designed for all communication modes.

Lunch and snacks are included, and childcare for infants and toddlers will be available. Limited scholarships are available to cover registration and travel.

This event is sponsored by MDE-LIO, Michigan Hands & Voices, DeafBlind Central, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, and the Michigan Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Program.


What: Family Matters!

When: March 16

Where: Lansing Community College, West Campus

Cost: $50 per family before 4 p.m. on March 1 ($75 after 4 p.m. on March 1)


Registration opens: 8:30 a.m.

Sessions: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
