MDE-LIO provides resources that help parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, college students, and others expand their understanding of the development and education of students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH).

Borrowing Materials

To borrow an item in the DHH Resource Library inventory [PDF], please email msdb-imc@michigan.gov and provide:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Item you are interested in, including ISBN or item ID

Oticon FM System

An Oticon FM system is available to borrow from MDE-LIO for use with a student who is DHH for an eight-week trial period. This device should be used under the supervision of the school personnel who requested the loan in collaboration with an audiologist.

Districts wishing to borrow this device may fill out the Hearing Assistive Technology Loan Rationale Form [PDF] and submit it to msdb-imc@michigan.gov. The request will be reviewed by a committee; if it is approved, a signed loan agreement will be required.

Returning Materials

MDE-LIO will loan library materials for eight weeks. After the eight-week loan period, please return your item(s) to:
