$25 for students ages 14-16 who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Description

In this workshop, teens who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) will learn about applying for jobs and how to act in the workplace. They will also learn tips for expressing their needs, setting goals, and asking for support. A panel of adults who are DHH will share their real-world work experiences and how they overcame their own challenges.

Audience

This program is for students in Michigan who are ages 14–16 and are DHH. A parent or guardian must sign up for the student.

Required Technology

To access this event, participants must have reliable internet access and a computer with a camera.

Accommodations

An American Sign Language interpreter and captioning will be provided during this event. It is important for participants to request any other accommodations at least three weeks prior to the event. Outside agencies MDE-LIO contracts with to provide accommodations cannot guarantee services if requests are made in less than three weeks.
