Join MDE-LIO and Camp Tuhsmeheta for Independent Living Skills Olympics! Independent living skills (ILS) include activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, laundry, and dressing skills. Families from all over Michigan will have an opportunity to get to know each other, participate in outdoor camp activities, and practice ILS. The event highlight will be a family competition to showcase your skills. Find out who will take home the coveted toilet plunger trophy!
Audience
This event is for families with school-age children who are Blind or Visually Impaired and have an individualized education program (IEP). Caregivers are required to attend, and siblings are welcome.
Required Camper Forms
In addition to registering, attendees are required to fill out a camper information form packet for this event. Please download and fill out the packet below, one for each individual in your group. Bring the completed packet with you on the day of the event.
Accommodations
It is important for participants to request accessibility accommodations at least three weeks prior to the event. Outside agencies MDE-LIO contracts with to provide accommodations cannot guarantee services if requests are made in less than three weeks.
