Neurological visual impairment (NVI) is the leading cause of visual impairment in developed countries. To better serve this population, this presentation will discuss how NVI affects learning. MDE-LIO will offer another workshop, Literacy Accommodations for Students With Neurological Visual Impairments, in the afternoon. SCECHs are pending.

Participants will learn:

  • Medical conditions related to NVI
  • The ten behavioral characteristics associated with NVI
  • Specialized interventions to increase visual function
