Join MDE-LIO at Camp Tuhsmeheta for a two-day orientation and mobility (O&M) and independent living skills (ILS) workshop and swap meet! This workshop is for O&M specialists, visual impairment (VI) teachers, paraprofessionals, and college students.
On the first day, participants will learn tools and techniques for teaching winter outdoor O&M skills, cooking skills, winter recreation techniques, and good hygiene practices. On the second day, participants will have a chance to practice what they have learned with students and families. Participants may either attend just the first day, or the first and second day.
Throughout the workshop, we will also take part in recreational activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding. To wind down, meet by the fire with colleagues to share ideas and resources. Lodging will be available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night for this event.
SCECHs are pending.
In addition to registering, attendees are required to download and complete Camp T's Camper Information and Consent Packet [PDF] for this event. Please bring the completed packet with you on the day of the event.
