Description
Social skills are essential for all kinds of interactions. Children use their social skills to communicate, play, and develop friendships. They wave, fist bump, take turns, share, cooperate, make requests, and learn to respect personal space. Knowing which social skills are appropriate when interacting with family, peers, and community members can be challenging for children who miss out on everyday learning opportunities due to visual impairment.
In this webinar series, participants will meet, network, and connect with other parents and caregivers raising children who are Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI). Each session will include a presentation and time for questions and conversation. The sessions will be presented by MDE-LIO Parent Liaison Amy Shepherd, along with Leanne and Tyler Merren from Camp Tuhsmeheta.
Audience
This webinar series is for parents and caregivers raising children in Michigan who are BVI.
