DHH Series
Build Your TC Toolkit
This three-part series provides support for Michigan-based teacher consultants for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TC-DHH) on topics such as data collection, lesson planning, tools for supporting self-advocacy skills and individualized education program goal development, online resources, and more. All itinerant staff are welcome, but the focus will be supporting those who are newer to the role and/or current DHH Consortium students.

The DHH Huddle
Huddle up! It’s time to learn and collaborate within the DHH field. Join MDE-LIO consultants as we host open discussions around specific DHH topics. Bring your questions and share your experiences to learn from each other.

Empowering Parents
The internet is overflowing with resources, but how do you navigate finding the right ones? Join MDE-LIO and Michigan Hands & Voices as we explore resources to support children who are Deaf, DeafBlind, or Hard of Hearing. Building your knowledge will empower you to be an informed partner on your child’s educational team.
Each event in the series will focus on a specific topic. During the first half of each session, we will explore three to four resources. The second half will be an open forum for participants to share their experiences with the resources, share other helpful resources they have found, and ask questions.

DHH Classroom Connections
Are you a classroom teacher of students who are DHH? Feeling isolated in your district? Looking to network with other classroom teachers of students who are DHH from around the state to share ideas, challenges, and solutions? If your answer is yes, consider joining the DHH Classroom Teacher Connections meeting series this school year. The purpose is to share evidence-based practices and intervention tools for language acquisition as well as reading and writing instruction.

BVI Series
Parent Pop-Up Conversations
In this webinar series, participants will meet, network, and connect with other parents and caregivers raising children who are BVI. Each session will include a presentation and time for questions and conversation. The sessions will be presented by MDE-LIO Parent Liaison Amy Shepherd, along with Leanne and Tyler Merren from Camp Tuhsmeheta.

ILS Tips and Tricks
Join MDE-LIO Education Consultant Amanda English for a one-hour session to discuss independent living skills (ILS). In each session, participants will gain ideas they can incorporate into lessons to help students who are BVI become more independent. ILS includes skills such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, organization, and more. Sessions will include demonstrations either by a professional or by a student who is BVI.
