MDE-LIO, in collaboration with Oakland Schools, hosted its first Braille Challenge on February 28, 2015. Thirteen students from across Michigan participated in this two-stage contest. The event is designed to motivate students who read and write Braille to emphasize their study of Braille, while rewarding their success with fun-filled, but challenging, activities.
This was a great opportunity for students and their families to meet one another and share in their enjoyment of reading and writing Braille. Mark your calendars—next year’s challenge will be held at Genesee Intermediate School District on February 27, 2016.
