School personnel and families are invited to use the new Michigan Communication Plan for Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing [PDF] from MDE-LIO. This document may be used to discuss specific language and communication needs for a child who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
The Michigan Communication Plan document is fillable and includes questions for teams to discuss and document a child’s communication needs. It is not required; it is an optional resource to help guide discussion and capture information that can be considered for educational planning.
