
MDE-LIO’s Library Management System (LMS) has been updated with exciting new features. You can now request Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) and Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI) Resources, DHH Reading Kits, and Budding Seedlings books at lms.mdelio.org. We hope you enjoy these resources!
DHH and BVI Resources
MDE-LIO provides resources that help parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, college students, and others expand their understanding of the development and education of students who are DHH and students who are BVI. These items are available to borrow for up to eight weeks.
DHH Reading Kits
Reading books with your child is a wonderful way to support language, learning, and literacy. Plus, reading with your child is just fun! MDE-LIO offers reading kits for families of students in Michigan who are DHH. One kit at a time may be borrowed for four weeks. Each kit contains:
- one book
- book activity ideas
- activity supplies

Budding Seedlings
Early literacy is important for all children to develop language and concepts. This program helps expose early braille readers to many age-appropriate books so they can develop their literacy skills. You can borrow Budding Seedlings for up to eight weeks if you are a Michigan:
- parent/family member of a student who reads braille
- school district personnel
- school or public library
