Camp Tuhsmeheta will offer several fun programs and camps for students who are Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI) and/or Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) this summer. Read on to learn about available programs.

Come to Camp T with your family and enjoy a few hours of outdoor fun. Each week will focus on a different outdoor activity, followed by a lake swim. We will even cook dinner and do the dishes. Do summer right: have fun, make new friends, and make lasting memories!
Outdoor Adventure Camp
Dates: June 25-28, 2023
Registration Ends: June 7, 2023
Students in grades 4–12 who are BVI will enjoy classic camp activities such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, archery, climbing tower, hiking, sports, teamwork challenges, and nature investigations. Campers will have the opportunity to spend a night in the woods in tents they set up themselves. Meet friends from across the state at Camp T to have fun and create lifelong memories!
Preschool Family Fun Packs
Date: Packs mailed out July 13

Sign up to receive a family fun pack to use in the comfort of your own home! This fun-filled pack will include a variety of nature-related activities and supplies for preschoolers and their families. It will include a snack, craft, and other activities.
Family Camp: ILS Olympics
Dates: July 21-23, 2023

Join MDE-LIO and Camp T for Independent Living Skills Olympics! Independent living skills (ILS) include activities such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene, laundry, and dressing skills. Families from all over Michigan will have an opportunity to get to know each other, participate in outdoor camp activities, and practice ILS. The event highlight will be a family competition to showcase your skills. Find out who will take home the coveted toilet plunger trophy!
