We want student input! The Michigan Department of Education Resource for Blind/Low Vision and Resource for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Student Advisory Board is a unique opportunity for high school students who are blind/low vision or deaf/hard of hearing and will be entering grades 9-12 in the 2026-2027 school year. The board will offer an opportunity for students to share their perspectives, experiences, and feedback on programming that will affect students.
Why join the Student Advisory Board?
Members will:
- learn more about and influence MDE RBLV's and MDE RDHH's services for students
- build leadership skills
- meet engaged students who want to support student programming
- work with our staff members who want to learn from you!
What will members be expected to do?
Members must commit to:
- a one-year term (2026-2027 school year)
- attending bi-monthly meetings (4-6 meetings each year)
- actively participating in board activities and meetings
- attending activities determined by the Student Advisory Board
